  • The fee for applicants is $27.00 for fingerprinting. There are several payment options.

    • Online payments must be made before the appointment for fingerprinting. Select CPS > CSS ACCT > Handprinting ALL Other.
  • Pay in person.
    • You will need a money order or a certified check payable to Chesapeake Public Schools. No other forms of payment are accepted.
  • When you visit for your fingerprinting session, you must fill out payroll and Social Service Child Protect Services background forms. You also have to show proof of your eligibility to work in the United States.
  • You must bring the required fee and proof of identification to your fingerprint appointment. Otherwise, your meeting will be rescheduled.
  • Once you have completed all paperwork, you will receive the next Substitute Orientation program’s date, time, and location.
  • Substitute orientation lasts for 3-4 hours.
  • After the orientation session, all approved applicants will receive a substitute teacher card for the current school year. 
  • To be eligible for substitute assignments, substitutes must register with Aesop at Chesapeake Public School after orientation.

Chesapeake Public Schools COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics

Chesapeake Public Schools will partner with Rite Aid and the Chesapeake Health Department to offer in-school vaccinations against COVID-19 during the week of May 24th, 2021, at the high school of our choice. 

The first doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine will be provided to students older than 12 and their parents and employees. Students aged 12 to 17 require an adult present.

Participation in these clinics is entirely voluntary. Participants must comply with COVID-19 mitigation procedures, which include wearing a mask, keeping a distance of six feet, and completing a temperature test at arrival time.
