This may seem like a problem for some, but the additional features they offer far outweigh any limitations. They have two-factor authentication (2FA), email address alias, free online Office suite and even free mobile email apps for Android and iOS. Mail.com is my favorite service. Their servers are fast and the process is easy.

This is one of the best email services I have ever used. Tutanota allows anonymous sign-ups for up to 1GB of storage space. What’s the best part? Tutanota encryption adds an additional layer of security.

ProtonMail, a Swiss-based email provider, offers free email accounts with 500MB storage and 150 emails per day. Although this may not sound like much, ProtonMail offers encryption as an additional feature. Yes, encrypted emails can be sent to password-protected recipients that will expire or self-destruct within a few days. Isn’t that cool?

Yandex, also known as “Russian Google”, is the last item on this list. You might have noticed that I added a “not really” to the heading. Yes. And that’s for a very good reason. 2021 Update – How can I have missed this one? GMX (Global Mail eXchange), is managed by a German listed company. They have been in operation since 1997 and are reliable. They do not specify storage restrictions but there is a limit of 50MB for attachments… and an alert for advertisements. You will still need an email account to register on GMX.
